About this piece

Villefranche-sur-Mer means, in French, "the free town by the sea." The name was not a description but a promise.

In 1295, Charles II of Anjou granted the settlement its charter and with it the status of a ville franche — a town exempt from the taxes and tolls that governed most medieval commerce.

Printed with archival pigment inks on museum-grade cotton canvas, then stretched and framed by hand in solid wood. Listed measurements are the outer frame size. Hanging hardware is fitted before dispatch, so the piece is ready for the wall out of the box.

Every piece is printed and framed only after you order, so we are not able to accept returns or cancellations.

If your piece arrives damaged, misprinted or not as described, we replace it or refund you in full — and nothing needs to be sent back. Write to care@cenzioatelier.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.

Care

Dust gently with a dry, soft cloth. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight and away from damp walls. Never use water or chemical cleaners on the canvas. Lift and carry by the frame rather than the printed surface.
