About this piece

Colmar sits in the Rhine plain at the foot of the Vosges mountains, in the Alsace region of northeastern France. It looks the way it does because of where it is: on one of the most contested borders in European history.

The half-timbered construction style — called colombage in French, Fachwerk in German — is indigenous to the region. Oak frames were raised, the spaces between filled with wattle and plaster, the plaster whitewashed or painted.

Printed with archival pigment inks on museum-grade cotton canvas, then stretched and framed by hand in solid wood. Listed measurements are the outer frame size. Hanging hardware is fitted before dispatch, so the piece is ready for the wall out of the box.

US orders usually arrive within 3–7 business days, production and transit included. Everywhere else it is usually 7–14 business days. Prices are in US dollars; where import duties apply, they are paid by the recipient.

Returns & damage

Every piece is printed and framed only after you order, so we are not able to accept returns or cancellations.

If your piece arrives damaged, misprinted or not as described, we replace it or refund you in full — and nothing needs to be sent back. Write to care@cenzioatelier.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.

Care

Dust gently with a dry, soft cloth. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight and away from damp walls. Never use water or chemical cleaners on the canvas. Lift and carry by the frame rather than the printed surface.
